Providing a mixture of shared ownership, social housing and private rental, this three storey residential block is split into two distinct masses with a covered external courtyard. Secure access through a central core provides residents with a winter garden space with access bridges to their units, where Code Level 4 and the Code for Sustainable Homes help make this an exemplar sustainable new housing scheme.
Forming part of a wider three site development in Oxford, the scheme provides over 100 new social
and private for sale houses and flats, along with two Community Centres and retail provision for
the charity Emmaus, which provides accommodation for people at risk of homelessness.
RUFFARCHITECTS are delivering as executive architects the Allford Hall Monaghan Morris designed scheme for Westlands Drive, Oxford. Designed for Kevin McCloud’s development company HAB and housing association GreenSquare Group, the project looks to bring good quality design and clear sustainable targets to the masses through social housing, whilst supporting and enhancing the existing community with the new community facilities which include a sports centre and local business units, café and social rooms.
