As part of this year’s London Festival of Architecture, RUFFARCHITECTS opened the doors of our studio to family, friends and the wider architectural community to join us in a series of events and activities, as part of  the LFA Open Studios programme in Fitzrovia.

We opened up our studio to friends, neighbours and the wider architectural community to join us for after work drinks on 9th June - a unique opportunity to explore our studio and go behind the scenes at our practice.

We incorporated the festival theme of Memory into our Open Studio Family Drawing event, where the walls of our studio were brought to life with an innovative perception of our city’s architectural landmarks.

We invited the public to add to our historic London skyline mural, illuminating the entire studio.

As part of the event, photographer Rob Parrish was in the RUFFARCHITECTS studio, both documenting the event itself and creating a time-lapse video as the mural developed.

We printed artistic interpretations of present landmarks, which participants added to themselves, sitting alongside those which have been eradicated from our past memories, hidden from view due to the changing cityscape. We also printed images of our own developing projects, and invited participants to construct futuristic landmarks, to put their own “mark” on the map.
