RUFFARCHITECTS were delighted that our artwork, Housing Study In Metal & Wood, was chosen to be one of the centre pieces at the 2016 Article 25 Annual 10x10 Live Auction, held at the RIBA in London in November.

Along with key pieces from Antony Gormley, David Adjaye, Zaha Hadid Architects, Richard Meier and Kengo Kuma, the success of our piece has helped in raising much needed funds for Article 25.

10×10 Drawing the City London, an annual flagship event of the UK’s leading architectural charity Article 25 brings together 100 prominent and rising architects, artists and designers to each produce a work inspired by a specific area of London. This year’s event titled The 100 Translated Spaces in Brixton focused on this vibrant area of south London. The idea is to concentrate on human interaction rather than the built environment portraying the cultural differences, heritage and human adaptation to the environment according to their lifestyle.

Inspired by one of the last social housing schemes to be designed by LB Lambeth and constructed in 1983, the scheme built by the architect Abe Hayeem, sits at the heart of our allocated square.

Our artwork looks to represent the cumulative benefits and sum of the individual parts that together, make something beautiful and unique. Reflecting the varied culture and diversity Brixton presents, collectively a cultural identity

and a key part of life, the home, is formed.
