We have been invited to participate in this year’s Article 25 charity auction 10×10.

Collaborating again with artist Pablo Smidt, we have developed a bespoke interpretation of their

allocated square, No.27 in Battersea.

The concepts sees London divided into a 10×10 grid, this year following the River Thames. The 100 resulting squares are allocated to prominent architects, designers and artists, who create 100 unique perspectives of London, including the likes of Anthony Gormley, Richard Wilson and Norman Foster.

The artistic snapshot that 10×10 London creates helps raise money for Article 25, the UK’s leading architectural and construction aid charity that works closely with local communities to design and construct sustainable buildings like schools, health clinics and training centres in the developing world.

Square No.27, the site of London’s only Heliport, the Reuben Brothers owned facility, provides an essential service to the business community and emergency services, including the London Air Ambulance.

The piece looks to try and capture the beauty of the markings and momentary drawings that are created on the water’s surface each and every day by the flying machines using this part of the River Thames.

A carpet of mild steel flexes and moves in an interlocking puzzle of commercial and social wellbeing.

The piece will remain exhibited in the main foyer at the RIBA, 66 Portland Place until Christmas, for people

to enjoy, walk on, touch and feel.
